U18 AA Sharks Head Coach

The St. Albert Raiders Hockey Female program is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach for the U18 AA (F) Sharks for the 2025/2026 season.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to work with a group of players to foster good sportsmanship, work ethic, and skill development.



The candidate should have demonstrated coaching experience in female hockey and demonstrated hockey knowledge.


The U18 AA Sharks Head Coach must have or be able to achieve the following qualifications and certifications:


  • Development 1

  • Respect in Sport (Activity Leader)

  • Checking Skills

  • VSC (Vulnerable Sector Check)


HEAD COACH RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Support on-ice and off-ice skill development

  • Develop and implement team tactics and strategies

  • Engage in game and practice preparation

  • Attend all team practices, games, and events as required

  • Build strong relationships with players, parents, and other coaches to create a positive culture.

  • Select qualified assistant coaches, team manager, and other team personnel.

  • Collaborate with the St. Albert Raiders development personnel throughout the season.


HEAD COACH QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Adaptable, flexible and a growth mindset.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with players and their families.

  • Works well in a collaborative team environment with a strong ability to develop relationships.

  • A sincere interest in helping athletes to maximize their potential.

  • Demonstrated coaching experience in competitive stream hockey.

  • Awareness of the rules and regulations of the Association, Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS (must have or be willing to obtain)


  • Hockey Canada – Development 1

  • Hockey Canada – Checking Skills

  • Respect in Sport – Activity Leader

  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)


This position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate team practices and games.


We offer a competitive honorarium and are invested in supporting the ongoing education of our coaches. In addition, all St. Albert Raiders coaches have access to coaching mentorship intended to support the advancement of coaches within the program.
