HEAD COACH 2024 - 2025


The St. Albert Raiders are pleased to introduce the U18 coaching lineup for the 2024-2025 season.


As an association, we recognize the critical role that effective leadership plays in the success and development of our players. We are incredibly fortunate to have assembled a team of four highly qualified and experienced coaches who bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the table. We are committed to providing the best possible environment for players to develop and find success, and we are excited to see the positive impact the coaches will undoubtedly have on our athletes.



 


Jack Redlick - U18 AAA


As an accomplished hockey coach with over 11 years of experience coaching junior and AAA hockey, Jack is widely recognized for his knowledge and skill as a coach.


In 2023, Jack led the U18 AAA Raiders team to the AEHL provincial championship final. In 2019, he was awarded the AEHL (former AMHL) coach of the year, and in 2018, he coached the Raiders U18 AAA to a championship at the highly competitive Mac's Tournament.


With a deep understanding of the game and a passion for coaching, Jack has established himself as a leader in the hockey community. He is a Hockey Alberta coaching clinic facilitator and field evaluator. He is also a mentor to young coaches and is dedicated to helping develop the next generation of hockey talent. Jack is a member of the Edmonton Oil Kings as the Team Police Liaison.


In 2023, Jack was awarded the Queen Elizabeth ll Platinum Jubilee Medal for his significant contribution to coaching and developing youth hockey in the province of Alberta.


We are anticipating another successful season under Jack's leadership as the Head Coach of the U18 AAA Raiders.



 

Ryan Campbell - U17 AAA

Ryan is an experienced hockey coach with an extensive playing career and brings a unique blend of expertise and leadership to the U17 AAA Flyers. Having enjoyed a successful playing career across various leagues and countries, Ryan brings firsthand knowledge of the game at both the professional and NCAA levels.

As a player, Ryan played with the Columbia Inferno (ECHL), Memphis River Kings (CHL), and the Wichita Thunder (CHL). His international experience includes playing for the Sterzing Vipiteno Broncos in Vipiteno, Italy, the Braehead Clan in Braehead, Scotland, and the GKS Katowice in Poland.


As a student-athlete, Ryan played Division 1 NCAA hockey and represented the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Here, he excelled both on the ice and in his studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Science with a major in Elementary Education.


In 2013 Ryan transitioned from the ice to coaching. He coached with Southside Athletic Club from 2013 to 2019. During his tenure, he coached U15 AAA for three seasons. Ryan was also the Head Coach at the Leduc Athletic Club, U15 AAA teams from 2019 to 2022, and the U17 AAA team in the 2022-2023 season. In 2023 - 2024, in his first season with the Raiders, Ryan coached the U17 AAA Flyers to a Provincial Championship.


Ryan understands that being a coach means teaching the game, mentoring, and being a role model for young athletes. His ability to combine his extensive playing experience, coaching expertise, and academic background sets him apart as a well-rounded coach.



 

Kory Owen - U18 AA

Kory has a hockey coaching career spanning over 17 years. He has been the Head Coach of the U18 AA Crusaders for two seasons and will continue on this year for a third season.


Kory has completed Coach 1, Coach 2, Checking Skills Safety, and is a certified NCCP Development 1 coach. He has also been an active participant in coach learning sessions over the past three years.


Kory possesses an innate ability to instill a culture of accountability within his teams while nurturing individual growth and development. His coaching philosophy transcends the scoreboard; it's about shaping character, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game.


We are excited to welcome Kory back to the U18 program this year and are looking forward to the 2024 - 2025 season!

 






 

Troy Weatherly - U16 AA

Troy joined the Raiders in 2021 as the Head Coach in the U13 AA program. Since then, he has spent two years with the U15 AA program, and this season, he will join the U18 program as the Head Coach of the U16 AA Royals.

Troy is a tremendous contributor to the program and has worked over the past seven years to surround himself with coaches who advance his knowledge and understanding of the game. He has been an active participant in coach learning sessions and is Hockey Canada NCCP Development 1 certified. In addition to this, Troy has successfully completed Coach 1, 2, Checking Skills and Safety.


With 161 games in the AJHL for the St. Albert Saints and 50 games with the NAIT Ooks in the ACAC under his belt, Troy brings a wealth of playing experience to his coaching role. Now leading the U16 AA Royals, Troy's focus remains on fostering player development and team success.
